The name Belrose comes from two native plants – the Christmas Bell and the native rose. Early on Belrose was dominated by rural surrounds . Belrose adjoins the beautiful Garigal National Park and the rural suburb of Terrey Hills to the north. The area has seen development of retirement villages including the Belrose Country Club, Wesley Gardens Retirement Village and Glenaeon. Glenrose Shopping Centre and Belrose Village are two shopping centres in the suburb.
