Frenchs Forest is located 13 kilometres north of the CBD and only a 15 min drive to Manly Beach . Frenchs Forest is named after local police constable John French, who was given one of the first land grants in the area. It remained a primarily rural area until significant redevelopment following World War II.

Originally the suburb was the home of the Guringai language group of the Garigal Aboriginal clan.

Frenchs Forest has a population of about 5000 homes and is close to the Garigal National Park. With its leafy surrounds the elevated eastern part of Frenchs Forest, you can get views over the Pacific Ocean.

There are convenient shopping centres, Forestway Shopping Centre which includes Woolworths and Aldi, Australia Post and specialty stores. situated at the corner of Forest Way and Warringah Road. Smaller shopping centres are located at Sorlie Road featuring a variety of restaurants and Skyline shops on Frenchs Forest Road East.

Frenchs Forest Public School and the Mimosa Public School are the two primary schools, with Davidson High and The Forest High School. Frenchs Forest Showground is located on Blackbutts Road and is adjacent to the playing fields of Lionel Watts Oval, which caters for Soccer, League ,AFL, Netball and Cricket.

The Northern Beaches hospital opened in 2018 and provides high quality service for both public and private patients. Frenchs Forest has regular bus services to the City, Chatswood , Warringah Mall and the Northern Beaches.
